Fairbanks and interior Alaska has enjoyed an incredible warm and wonderful spring, on the heels of a very dry winter. The unfortunate payback for this is a tinder box landscape and I’m sorry to say that forest fires are dotting much of the interior. I’m just hoping for some rains in the near future, to give some relief from smoke and haze. Last year, the smoke interrupted many of my planned photo projects, and that is not only frustrating, but rather costly as well. If you are considering a photographic venture in Alaska’s interior, you may want to check the BLM fire map and associated reports on their website. It’s time for a rain dance!

I thought it was appropriate as I’m beginning to make plans for the summer photography season, and I’ll likely include all four of these destinations in one fashion or another in 2010. See the post here: Your favorite place to photograph?
