Another excellent post. That video really shows the action. You can even see the water droplets slapping against the front lens element. The third photo is great.

Hey guys thanks for your comments. Video inclusion adds a fun element to the story telling, and I wish I had taken a few more candid, "what's going on" stuff in that fashion. It's fun to relive the moments with sound and motion.

Ah yes those were the days. But really those waves don't look nearly as big as they did when they were splashing over the tops of my waders...

I have really enjoyed reading of your trip to Antarctica! It looks like you had some great adventures. It would be an amazing trip. :)

Great entry Patrick. As one of the participants in the trip, let me again express my great appreciation for your and the rest of the staff's amazing efforts. The video of the zodiac loading is a great example of how you worked as a team to get the job done in some very harsh conditions. As one who got off the ship early and was on Salisbury Plain around 6:30 a.m., I can attest to the beautiful conditions that existed (and which allowed me to get one of my favorite photos of the trip - three king penguins with full reflections in a calm pond staring at the distant mountains), and how rapidly they deteriorated less than 4 hours later. Thanks again for your great work, and a great blog. Mark VB

Wow, those video clips give excellent perspective of what you all went through to get those photos. A good example of the difference between pros and us fair-weather sissies.
Another model blog entry too. Stories and photos, technical info and savage perspective always make your blog posts individually epic.
Thanks for sharing!
