Dave,
I've been holding off on judgment until lightroom updated the Camera Raw so I could feel that I was best evaluating the files. I'll have some more defined comments on that soon, but in general, I loved the camera body, buttons, frame rate, and operation for the most part. However, I'm so schooled in viewing image quality from a full frame sensor that it is hard to go back. I shoot at 800 ISO often and the 7D is much grainier at that speed than my 1Ds or 5D Mark II. So, I won't use the camera that much for that reason. The frame rate is wonderful however, and I wish the 5d or 1Ds could come up to speed in that area.

Hey Patrick-
Love the video and the polar bear antics! Now that you've had a chance to play around with the 7D, I'm wondering what your thoughts are (overall) on its image quality?

Eli,
I forgot to mention in the post that this is about a 50% crop on the scene, so all things considered, the video quality is pretty good.

KYM,
It took me a minute to figure out the phone call from your mother in law, and then it all made sense, no problem. Glad to hear you will be joining the Fairbanks community, I'm sure our paths will cross again.

You are awesome! All your photos are incredible.
My father loves the polar bear and aurora pic I got for his birthday. Sorry about the harassment from my mother in law in NY, she didn't realize it was a gift from us.argh!
Also, it was nice meeting you, breifly, hope to get that chance again when we move to Fairbanks.
