Patrick J. Endres

Welcome to my photography blog. Alaska has been my home for nearly 30 years, and its epic landscape continues to lure me, both personally, and professionally as a freelance photographer. Let this be your virtual “Alaska”. I’ll be posting some visual goods and technical comments about my ventures. Facebook | Twitter | Newsletter

Over the next few weeks I'll share some of the amazing sights from my recent one month trip to Antarctica.

Polar bear portrait

This is another frame taken on a recent Arctic photo tour that I co-guide with Hugh Rose. We expanded to two trips this year, due to increased interest. This female polar bear was looking pretty healthy, and had been feeding on carcasses left over from the Autumn Bowhead whale hunt in the native village of Kaktovik.  The slushy ice along the shore depicts that freeze up is not far away. She will soon head out on the ice pack in search for seals.

Ryan Patrick - Uncle Pat, Is this my bear? RP

Patrick - Ryan, That is not the bear the supplied the fur. But a very nice bear indeed. Uncle Patrick
